Continuing with the environmental work carried out by public and private entities and institutions in different sectors of Valle del Cauca , a strategy was designed to raise awareness in the communities of the preservation of the environment , achieving through a recreational dynamic to benefit around thousand families that live in the town of Chapinero 1 in Palmira, Valle .
This day was developed under the coordination of the Municipal Mayor's Office of Palmira , led by the Directorate of Environmental Management , with the support of the Colombian Air Force , the National Army , the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Valle del Cauca , in the company of other actors environmental, with the purpose of generating a culture conducive to maintaining healthy environments.
Planting trees , cleaning rainwater channels, collecting solid waste , fumigating against dengue and mosquitoes, attention to critical points of debris, maintenance of green areas, as well as recreation and education for boys and girls, plays, talks environmental awareness and pet care for deworming dogs and cats, were the activities offered to the population of this sector.
The objective of the event was to strengthen ties with the community, leaving a message of the importance of protecting natural resources, reforesting and recovering green areas, promoting appropriate recycling practices at home, care and good treatment of domestic animals, taking awareness about wildlife trafficking, to maintain a sustainable culture, for future generations.
The Colombian Air Force will continue to promote, with this type of activities, a sense of belonging in the civilian population, working jointly with the public and private sectors, for the conservation of nature, as part of its environmental policy.
